Okay lets kick this blog into gear. The first real post of this blog and I believe we hit it out of the park right off the get go.For some reason Sheri and I have talked about and been by Fields Of Pizza in Moline and East Moline many times with never stopping.
Well we decided along with Sher's friend Lois's advice that this would be the first entry.I'm not sure that this place can be topped.
On with the pics.
I am getting in the mood with my fave Sailor Jerry and Coke.Cheers!
The Fields Of Pizza. This is the East Moline location.
The menu.Pretty basic, but lordy the chicken smelled truly sinfull and a shame we didn't order it.I'm already fat enough. I'm gonna get it the next time. There will be a next time too!
Here is were I need to apologize for my crappy camera. This pizza is/was/will be the gold standard from now on in my opinion as the Quad City Style Pizza it's that good. The crust was perfect.Crispy enough to pick up and eat without a fork. The toppings were plentiful and if I could give it one little dig would be not quite enough sauce.Other than that.My tongue is still in sensory overload. .Is there anywhere to go but down as we explore the QC's pizza offerings?
Hard to say.But I'm ashamed to say this is my first trip to The Fields and will not be the last.
Mollie gives it 2 thumbs up! Even tho she had chicken strips and french fries.
With all that said.I give The Fields Of Pizza a 9.5 on the Scotty Scale of QC style pizza. The crust, toppings, sauce were just excellent.Like I said a little more sauce would have been nice, but don't let that stop you from trying Fields Of Pizza in East Moline.
More trips and adventures to come.I hope you liked my first entry.
Cheers!
Scott
My mouth is watering! Love the blog, keep it coming!
ReplyDeleteThis pizza is my now gold standard, seriously. The crust was just perfect. We will be trying out some local pizza's that don't grind the sausage next.Wise Guy's Pizza has really nice sausage that isn't ground.Next up is Alfano's in Rock Island more than likely.
DeleteGood stuff, Scott. The chicken is awesome. They do a lunch buffet during the week- so you should try that sometime to get the chicken.
ReplyDeleteThanks buddy.Next up is Alfano's,I think.Or maybe Gunchies.I'm thinking about all the details I left out about the service, cleanliness, atmosphere et al.I might have frontloaded a wee bit too much.Nah.lol
DeleteI'll be curious to hear your review of Alfanos. For years, people told me it was awesome - the closest thing to real Chicago style pizza in the QC, etc., etc., I finally ate there and thought it sucked. The cheese was like salty soft rubber. Blech. Maybe I was there on a bad night - but I haven't had it since.
DeleteAs we have discussed I am rather ambivalent about Alfano's for some reason.Maybe it's location or that it really doesn't get much recognition. We will probably give Alfano's a pass for now.Probably be the end of January for the next review.I've got too much crap going on this weekend.
DeleteLet me know when you decide to review it. I'll go with to give it another try. Oh, and have someone who can take a decent freaking picture, lol.
DeleteI think my dog could take a better picture.lol
DeleteMade my mouth water just wanted a slice! Is all QC pizza cut in strips?
ReplyDeleteMost Quad City style pizza is cit into strips.I'm pretty sure that the two Wise Guys Pizza locations cut their pizza the triangle style.I myself don't really have a preference. As I explore more pizza joynts I will make note of that too.
DeleteThanks
