Give me a bottle of anything

Give me a bottle of anything and a glazed donut to go. And maybe some Sailor Jerry and Spotted Cow.

In 1986 there probably wasn't a dude on this entire planet cooler than David Lee Roth. Laugh all you want. I was there. Chicks (I'm a sexist ahole and don't care) wanted to gigolo with DLR. I would have loved to hang out for a bit, more than likely just a bit tho. I can only handle over the top for so long.

Got me a new T-shirt last month. Drinking rum is what I love. Just wanted the T-shirt.

My lady in red!

So what the eff does a Yankee Rose video have to do with a QC Pizza Blog update? I'll tell you.

I've been trawling the QC Pizza Yelp reviews for quite some time now. A Moline bar kept coming up as a decent place to get a pizza. So Sher and I decided to visit The Yankee Doodle Tap in Moline. It's right off of 23rd Ave.

Let's do the Doodle!

A typical old school QC bar that serves pizza. They even had Sailor Jerry rum as a cocktail option.Effin awesome!

Sher ordered a Leinie Summer shandy.

A few bar shots. Our bartender was pretty cool.

These pics are of a toy train set of tracks along the walls.

Pretty basic bar menu.

At this point I would usually start reviewing the pizza. I had fully intended to do that until at that moment I had a an old friend and his wife walk into The Doodle and  blow my mind.

It was like catching up days gone by. I know RJ and Tracy. Went to school with them and really totally forgot about the pizza.

An old friend from way back. Caught me by surprise.

So how was the Yankee Doodle Pizza you ask?

Sher and I both agreed it was pretty good. She gave it a 9.

I gave it an 8.  We both thought the sauce was really different than what we were used to.

As for me? Running into some old friends really made my day. And that is what life is about!

All apologies about a lack of pizza pictures. Got totally sidetracked gabbing. And I'm not much of a gabber unless I'm drinking.

A pic.

Just one of those seemingly random moments that make your day.

Good to see Randy and Tracy.

Scotty.
