For some reason this time of year always makes me a little melancholy. Hence one of Zepp's most under the radar classics!
Okie dokie. Yours truly and family have done the usual holiday bluster and school concerts and such. And attending my uncles funeral. Haven't left much time for pizza.Plus I have been working a lot of hours too.
My Uncle Jerry wasn't much of a pizza fan ,but seems he always was around for some Happy Joe's.
And so. Onto almost a new year.
Beginnings. A most righteous Chicago tune and a new pizza joint in Bettendorf.

This is the former location of Hall Of Fame Pizza and Beavers East.
I am hopeful this joint sticks around, but. And there is that big fat BUT. Cheers from me to you all.
Here goes.
In all honesty I should tell you Quad City Pizza just opened up a few days ago. Service was a wee bit slow and not much follow up so I will cut them slack for that.
The bathroom warzoned.
A little bit spruced up from the Hall Of Fame days.
The menu.
Pre pizza goofing.
Allrighty let's get to the food!
We were happy to see another pizza joint moving into the old Beavers East location.
A Quad City Times article had my hopes up too.

Let's see some pizza. For the record.
We each got our own mini pizza. I got a sausage. Moll got a taco. Sher got a pepperoni.
And Sher and I got a fried chicken breast. Moll got a chicken leg.
Final thoughts. We have been following this opening way before they did open. I was hopeful that this was going to be a new twist on QC Style pizza.Alas. We couldn't tell any difference taste wise to any other QC style pizza joint. Same ole same ole.But as they said in the article. They own Fields Of Pizza and man o man they do know how to fry chicken.
Kind of a let down and the service was kind weak.Although the fried chicken kicked it up a notch. To be honest they have only been open a few days.
We decided a middlin 8 for this newish zza joint.
Will we be back? For the chicken and that's it.
Just your average Quad City style pizza, I was hoping for more, and I do think the crust was not as chewy as most Quad City style pizza, but the same taste was there, which is what I like about Quad City style pizza. Not a fan of ground sausage. I love Quad City style crust. The pizza lacked sauce and possibly could have been cooked longer. Their fried chicken is so good, worth a trip back just for the fried chicken.
