Yeah.It's been a while since the last blog update. I wish I had a little more enthusiasm for this post.Alas. For reasons that are not in my control. We are going to Dubuque for pizza tonite.
The wife and her sisters wanted to visit Vinnie Vannuci's in Dubuque.We have dined at both Vinnie locations. Galena and Dubuque have rather interesting restaurants.
On with the show. Yours truly getting in the mood.

The only good picture I took.Do not waste your money getting a pizza at Vinnie Vannuci's. The sausage was good. The cheese rocked.alas the crust was limp and there was no sauce taste at all.
I should have listened to my cousin Terri Carter. Although the pasta at Vinnie's is awesome!
Hopefully your's truly will get out and start eating some kick ass pizza.Tonite wasn't it.

Ooh Ooh Mr Kotter! On that note we are back. It's been a long time since we have had the time to sally forth for pizza.
I've been waiting a long time to say sally forth,but I digress.
Where to begin? Besides the frozen pizza throwdown,we haven't had an honest to goodness pizza roadtrip since last October.. Holidays and all that drain on the cash haven't left yours truly with a flush checkbook. But anyways.
It's now time and today I went to a pizza joint that is on the west end of Davenport and opened a second location in Rock Island.
Gunchies. On with the show. Yours truly with Ms Lucy.
Gunchies opened up a second location in the old Hunters Club in downtown Rock Island. Sheri and I had been there about 10 years ago. Gunchie's has extensively remodeled the old place and it is nice on the inside.

So. How do I rank Gunchie's on my first visit? Sheri and I give them an 8. Pretty good.Not the best and certainly not the worst. Service was okay and the building was really remodeled better than I remembered. So if you are in the area and hankering for a pizza,you should check Gunchie's out.
Now. I have permission for some good news.

We are going to be grandparents! Mollie is so excited to be an aunt at age 12.Lol.
My middle daughter Ellie will be having a future pizza fanatic.

Hopefully our pizza reporting will get back on a some what better track.As always we do this for fun.
My pizza opinion is just that.Take it with that proverbial grain of salt.

Day four of the Frozen Pizza Throwdown. You might be asking yourself. Self? Do you think Scotty is getting tired of pizza?
I am not.
After last nights pizza .....tho. Mama Bosso's just didn't do anything for me. I can usually find something to like.Alas Mama's I put in the Manny's Pizza in Fulton Illinois category. Search in the blog for the Manny's review.
And so it is that I go with a known quality that probably won't let me down. I'm going to try the regular Butch's sausage pizza.

The party is over. I have one more frozen pizza in the freezer for tomorrow. It's a Home Run Inn.I just cooked the best frozen pizza ever.
Butch's Pizza is hands down the best.This is the pizza that Mama Bosso wanted to be.
I am still eating Butch's frozen pizza.Still great.
After four days you would think I still would hold out hope for Home Run Inn Pizza.I might and I will report about said pizza.
But.Butch's Sausage is my new most favorite frozen pizza ever.It is that good. I am serious. Go buy this pizza.If you don't like Butch's,well you are no friend of mine.Almost better than you know what,but not!
