On the other hand we did try some new to us pizza in the form of Hall Of Fame Pizza in Bettendorf. This place is located in the old Beavers East.Beavers East used to have a second location in the Muscatine Mall for those of you that live in good ole Muscatine County.
So.Hall Of Fame Pizza.Lets let some pictures tell the story. To be honest,we liked the pizza.
Okay! As usual.Yours truly having a wee bit of rum.Scotty is not operating on a full nights sleep.Hence this post might seem a little off.
The dog is ready for pizza!
I should say that downtown Bettendorf is not as you may remember it.The whole I-74,Kimberly
Road area is totally tore up.A few years of traveling pain will be replaced with a new awesome I-74 bridge. It's gonna take awhile, but I think the wait will be worth it.anyways.
Okay on with the pizza.Moll ordered a small taco,Sher and I ordered our standard garden type of pizza.
A little goofing off time!
The facilities.Hall Of Fame Pizza was busy!Busy. The staff was busy and gave us fairly decent service.I can't complain.
The menu.
A few more Gilligan Island shots!
Ok.A few thoughts about Hall Of Fame Pizza.Sheri and I agreed the sauce kicked ass!The the chunky Italian sausage was different enough from the usual QC Pizza style sausage to give it 2 thumbs up.I kept telling Sheri it had to me a smokey type flavor.Maybe it's just me.We agreed we would come back and try a different thinner crust from Hall Of Fame.We loved the Taco pizza sauce. It was truly different.
Now the bad. It's what we talked about with Brad's Pizza a few weeks ago.The crust. While it had a good taste it was not baked long enough. What is it that the pizza does not get baked long enough?A few more minutes to golden the crust never hurts.I'm not sure whether it's the people baking the pizza or the customers getting antsy.
On the Scotty scale of QC Style Pizza I give it a 7.5. Sheri gave it an 8.Hall Of Fame was
The Batmobile!
We used to frequent Beavers East quite often when we lived in Bettendorf & the older kids were little. Wasn't even aware it changed hands (LOL!) I'm out of the Q/C pizza loop so I'm enjoying your posts. :) I'm with you, crust has to be done, would rather it be a little overdone than doughy. Enjoyed your post! Patty N.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading. We do this for the fun of it and I'll never be confused for any blogging genius.

Looks pretty decent. Thicker crust (and underbaked at that) just doesn't do it for me. I prefer the crumbled sausage opposed to the chunky style. For me if the sauce is yummy I can shove it down my pie hole. Keep the blogs coming, I think everyone really gets a kick out of it. ❤️, your sis
ReplyDeleteThe crust was hand tossed.I much prefer thin crust.Hall Of Fame was definately different as far as taste go.Different from what we usually get but it was good.Next report will probably be from Pagalo's in Milan.Decisions,decisions.
