Weren't near any bayou,but.

We did venture out and ended up in beautiful downtown Port Byron Ill. My sister in law always snowbirds down south around this time every year. So she invited the family out for dinner.

Alas no pizza to be found, but hey! A free dinner is a free dinner, so I'm not complaining.

Yours truly in his favorite time of the year. Halloween has always been the best time for me. I love it. Just wish the weather would cool off a bit.

Eastbound on I-80 and over the river.

So. We all went to Port Byron to Tuggers. It's a Burger Bar and Ale House according to their website.

http://www.tuggersportbyron.com/

A few outdoor pics.

Really like the indoor area although the metal seats were plain down right uncomfortable and alone a reason for me to never go back. Seriously even the wife hated them.

The men's  room was spotless!

The menu.

Now it's time for me to be honest. This type of place is not really any place I would go out of my way to stop and try out. Like I said up top free is free.

That said. I ordered this pork chili tater tot casserole type dish. It was tasty and the serving size was generous. The wife got some hamburger and it did look delish and came with fresh cut fries.

I won't give Tuggers any type of rating because I wasn't really there to try out the menu like we do for pizza. You certainly couldn't do worse if you are in the area and looking for a burger. And hey,Port Byron,Rapids City and LeClaire this time of year is a good reason to see the river and view the leaves changing.

Hopefully we will got back into the swing of more regular updates. The wife is recovering from some medical issues and is just now starting to feel better.

As always, pizza is life!

Pizza,Your My Best Friend yes you are!

Anyone that knows me,knows I'm kinda a loner. I've had a few good friends. I lost one a long time ago that still hurts.

Why bring downer crap up? Beats me. Grant Hart of Husker Du passed away yesterday. The Huskers And The Mats informed my early 20's music geist.

So. Queen's My Best Friend tells about my latest update. Pizza was on the menu and Sher,Moll and I were kind of stuck as to where we wanted to go.

It was Happy Joe's birthday the other day and we thought about a Taco Joe(we will do a Happy blog update soon)

Nope. A new place called Your Pie on the wild borderlands of the Davenport/Bettendorf divide had us in the Batmobile.

Yours truly trying to get in the mood. Dour times. The wife going in for major surgery in a few weeks has me feeling upset. Rum? I'll try.

To the mobile.Hard to get in an out of this car.

Okay. Time for the zza!

Your Pie is a new pizza joint somewhere in all of the medical offices off of 53rd St. The concept is like a Subway of pizza making. I had my doubts.

So we walk in not knowing how this all works. I let a few people go around us. I don't do well being pushed and being rushed.

So.

The pizza is brought out. I had no notions of what this pizza would taste like at all.

I got a double sausage.

Moll got a sausage/bacon/onion.

Sher got the Lineage.

As to our thoughts.

I had my doubts. I was wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

Your Pie has vaulted right up into my top 5 QC Pizza joints.

I give them a 9.
Sher gives an 8.5
Moll gives a 9.5

The crust, toppings, sauces and cheese are all top notch. Taste was frickin awesome.I'm not lying. While we were eating,Your Pie filled up.

I can't say much more. Go eat some Your Pie.

Cheers!

Aye Captain!

My hooching tends more towards that demon rum.

What the heck does Scotty from Star Trek have to do with QC Style Pizza? Well my nickname has always been Scotty and I'm a total Star Trek nerd.

That said. My middle daughter finally decided to give me my birthday present. She's only a month late, but I digress.

And here's my present!

Haven't had the chance to use it yet,but I'll be sure and document!

Fall Road Trips

I hear those pizza voices inside my head
All of them just want to talk to you
I'll be right here anytime at all

I'm not sure where this posting is going nor where we will end up. I've always been a sucker for road tripping when the leaves turn and there is nip(s) in the air.

That said. I'm plotting out a few pizza related trips to incorporate leaf peeping and rum drinking. Makes sense to me.

What I'm going to do here is just put up some links to joints I think have some Scotty tomfoolery potential. Okay? Ok!

They say it's your birthday!

Who's birthday tho? We are not sure.

Well actually we do. This time of year it's my youngest tweenager. Moll is turning 12 shortly. We did pizza for her.Pics shortly.

And. I'd like to say. Happy Birthday to my Dad. The guy that turned me on to pizza. My Dad,would travel for pizza everywhere.

His love for pizza has followed me down thru the years. I might actually love pizza more than he does, but that is worth a debate.

Happy Birthday Dad! Love You!

Yours truly getting in the mood!

So we have been wanting to visit Falbo's in downtown Davenport.

We finally did. Although I thought the service sucked right off the get go.

Moll told me to chill. I don't chill well at all,I digress. The baby of the family still loves her dada!

So anyways. Boston Terrier chill.

Can't forget mama!

Pizza time!

So how was the pizza at Falbo's? Outstanding! I was not impressed with the pizza time out of the oven. The service seemed to lack although when the pizza did come out,all was forgiven.

I'd rank this pizza right up with Tony's. Pagalo's and Huckleberry's.

Falbo's Pizza kicked ass! I was not happy with their service. But I'll overlook that. The pizza was outstanding.

I give Falbo's a solid 9. For taste alone. Service was kinda lame. Can't overlook that. Too many pizza places vying for dollars. Act like you want my money. Falbo's staff didn't seem to give a shit.
